Easier to find than Martell and the tour is more comprehensive. Remy, the second largest Cognac producer takes you through barrel making – and how these affect the flavour; a look at the vineyards; a description of the different grapes and soil and the differences between the grades of cognac, finishing with a tasting. Part of the tour includes a ride on a train – so something for the kids as well. Whole tour lasts just over an hour. Tours can be pre-booked or just turn up – although you may have to wait for an English tour. Fee is 6 for adults but children under 12 go free. Free parking and easily found by following the ring road around Cognac. Approx 1.5 hours drive from Chabanais. There is a shop where you can buy Cognac to take home.
